The Addax is a Critically Endangered Species

The Sahara's largest indigenous mammal, the Addax is a sand-colored antelope with long, spiral horns that slant backward and upward. Formerly ranging over the entire Sahara Desert, the Addax is now restricted to isolated populations of Mauritania, Mali, Niger, and Chad. The Addax is reputed to have a remarkable ability to sense patches of desert vegetation at long distances.  The Addax is nearly extinct. The Addax is classed as Critically Endangered.
