All About Polar Bears Home Page

Polar Bears are amazing animals. I wish that all polar bears could live in the wild, however, for those that do live in captivity it is my hope that they have large naturalistic enclosures and not baren cages.

In this polar bear section of the ZooFun4u.com website we will share facts about polar bears, share habitat information as well as provide a whole bunch of free games, jigsaw puzzles, dragger puzzles, a storybook, bookmark designers, and other free polar bear goodies for you (links are below).

We as individuals, and as a society, must address the issue of habitat loss and possible endangerment of polar bears in the wild by working together to preserve and protect their wilderness habitats.  There are things that each and everyone of us CAN DO to help save the polar bears in the wild.

We must start by doing things to stop glogal warning and other things that diminish their wild habitats, protect them from poaching and human encroachment on those wild habitats.

We realize web site visitors do not like ads, however, it has become necessary for us to use them to help support the costs of providing this web site and all of its Polar Bear stuff free to you, so please, respect the ads displayed on this web site.

PLEASE, as you enjoy these polar bear photographs, games, puzzles, desktop wallpapers, screensavers and crafts, won't you consider learning what YOU CAN DO to help preserve this species in the wild?

Instill a love, a compassion, passion and understanding for polar bears, both wild and captive in today's children.

Also please help us fight the exotic pet trade that truly makes wild animals victims over and over.  That is why we encourage people to visit ONLY properly accredited animal facilities.

If polar bears must live in captivity when you visit animal facilities, PLEASE take the time to notice what type of enclosure the polar bears are in.  If they are in a poor enviroment SPEAK OUT, be their voice to get their enclosures expanded and improved.  Don't just walk by and ignore poor enclosures or poor care.  Polar bears in captivity NEED YOU to be their voice.

Talk to the facilities' management (not just the keepers) and ask questions and keep asking questions that will demand accountability for the conditions captive wild animals are kept in.

In my travels of animal facilities the best captive polar bear exhibit (if there is such a thing) I have seen so far is the new Northwest passage at the Memphis Zoo in Tennessee.  The polar bears there have caves, logs, water fall, a very large pool, cooling rocks, enrichment toys etc.

Polar Bear Freebies & Goodies

101 Polar Bear photos taken at the zoo in Memphis, Tennessee have been turned into free desktop wallpapers, free screensaver, free online games, free download games as well as free jigsaw puzzles of polar bears. As far as zoo exhibits go I like the new one at the Memphis Zoo the best.  There are two open viewing areas, two windows with shallow water that the bears seem to enjoy playing in.

There is a huge room with benches on two levels to rest in out of the cold or heat and just relax and watch the polar bears through six LARGE floor to ceiling windows. There is lots of swimming and diving room for the bears exercise and play about it.

Often they can be seen leaping into the water and diving 10 foot to the bottom.  I also like the fact that their keepers are very into a good enrichment program to keep the polar bears from being bored.
